- Submitted the registration forms for the boys in the pack going to Twilight Camp (we have 12 out of 18 going) and sent in the final balance due and camper list for Overnight Resident camp (11 out of 18).
- Exchanged emails on a couple of district committee items including confirming more folks for our Program Kickoff.
- Helped with our pack’s spring recruiting sign-up night. Due to conflicts with testing and other spring activities at the school we recruit from, we were unable to go in to talk directly to the boys that we are normally able to do. The only thing we were able to do was provide a recruiting flyer that was handed out last week. We were unsure how effective that would be. We ended up getting three new boys and their families to show up and register/pay their dues (one each for the new Tiger, Wolf and Bear dens starting in the summer). So along with our younger son, who technically registered in March, we have 4 new scouts this spring! All four are planning to go to our May pack campout and two of the three boys (that aren’t my son) are seriously considering attending Twilight Camp. Both of our sons are going to camp. The younger one has been waiting to be official for two years. If we can get all the new boys to these activities and keep them engaged with the other pack summer time events, we stand a good chance at keeping them in the program.
- Gave a pretty strong “sales pitch” to the dad of the new Tiger who signed up on being part of the pack committee. He said he knows nothing about scouting but would be willing to help out. We armed him with an adult application and info about the online training & info on MyScouting.
