100 Days of Scouting – Day 66: Heading Home

Today I:

  • Began the long trip home after the cruise
  • Continued reading scouting books

Today we pulled into port early in the morning.  Based on the fact that our flight back home was not until around 6pm, we were in no hurry to get off the ship.  Since the cruise line needed to prep for the next sailing today, we were probably off the ship by 8am.  We took a shuttle back to the Orlando airport and rather than sit all day in the terminal, we got a day room at the hotel right in the airport terminal.  We let the kids play around, go swimming and we had a leisurely lunch.

Since we flew in and out of Columbus, we have a long day to get through.  Once we land later, we’ll be driving back to the Cincinnati area, dropping off my parents and heading back into the NKY.  The plan is to be home by midnight.  The boys are still off school, but some of us will have to work (albeit from home).  With scout camps and another family vacation this summer with the in-laws, I didn’t want to take the extra day off.

Hope you enjoyed our trip.  I know we absolutely did!!
