100 Days of Scouting – Day 62: The Disney Dream

Today I:

  • Read some Scouting stuff on my iPod
  • Boarded the ship for our cruise on Disney’s newest ship – The Disney Dream
  • Set sail for the Bahamas

We (meaning myself, the Mrs. and the boys) have never been on a cruise before so this will be a new experience for us.  My darling wife has been researching, checking message board sites and doing other planning activities for all of us since the day mom & dad told us we were going.  She has assumed the role of de-facto Cruise Director for the family so I think we are well prepared.  I am looking forward to all of the food and some of the activities.  The kids are looking forward to the kids activities in the Kid’s Club Area and the Mrs. is looking forward to the dinners (so she can dress up) and relaxing while the kids are off playing.

Since the ship does not pull out of port until later this afternoon, the plan is to take things a bit easy this morning, grab breakfast and work our way over to the port on the complimentary shuttle the hotel provides.  We can’t check in until late morning but we figure the sooner we can get on the ship the sooner we can start playing.  Once we do get on the ship, we’ll probably do some exploring and I am sure the kids will head off to the Kid’s Club.  We’ll see the early show in the Walt Disney Theatre and have the late dinner seating.  We sail overnight and arrive in Nassau tomorrow morning.
